Smithsonian STARS launched its pilot across a few schools in Southeast Arizona in spring 2026. We're currently preparing for a full statewide rollout in Arizona in fall 2026. Our goal is to expand to all 50 states over time.

At full capacity, STARS will be supported by a national team based at SAO in Cambridge, Massachusetts, and six regional teams located around the country.
